Initially reserved, unsure, quiet; he loosens up once he's comfortable with a situation. In groups he is usually quiet except for the occasional witticism, but can talk endlessly about his few favorite subjects, or when telling tales (which to him is like performing). Onstage, a passionate performer with no trace of his offstage awkwardness or shyness. |

Hobbies/Habits:
Gardening - herbs, mostly. Depending on the time of year, you might find the following in his wagon's numerous planters: angelica, anise, basil, burdock, calamus, chamomile, red clover, coriander, damiana, ginger, English lavender, licorice, mint, sage, savory, thorn apple, thyme, vitex, wormwood Illusion - slights, mostly. He's actually pretty good at them, but doesn't often show his skills and has yet to use the ability in performance Splits his time between the CoM and tending the herbs at his wagon, kept outside the city walls. From his love of gardening, penchant for herbs, and his solo travels, he's learned to cook pretty well. |
Faults:
Social awkwardness (unless in performance) Although he's quick to find friends, he's very cautious about actually letting people "in". He tends to avoid facing his fears, as he has an aversion to the mental and emotional pain that facing them may cause. There are other personality quirks, but they'll be covered in his history story. |
History:
Anglo-Romani (a relatively recent group at this point). As such, he's not "pure" Romani, but mixed somewhat with Germanic and Gallic blood. His actual name is John Beige, a polyglot in itself, though he has not gone by that name for some time. Few of his current companions have even heard the "John" part of his actual name. He's been traveling separately from his original tribe for some time - they're still in Wales or England. He struck out on his own after a heartbreak and some ensuing politics. He wanted to see the Continent anyway, so he travelled on-foot to the Channel, crossed, and had a wagon built for him with the money he'd saved for it. After wandering through Brittany for a time, he came to Paris. |
Special:
His wagon looks normal, but was built to his specifications and has a few unusual traits. To open up the inside (since he's a pretty big person), it's a bit wider than usual, and such things as the bed and table are designed to fold up/down, out of the way.
